As
alerted to by Chris Terran on our
forums (and certainly not these
forums), the full version of
Aemulor, the 26-bit emulator for the
IYONIX, has been released. It costs £50.00 + VAT, and its features are:
- Full 26-bit application emulation (C, ARM Code etc)
- Fast XScale-optimised pure ARM code interpreter engine
- StrongARM-class performance
- 26-bit module support
- 26-bit BASIC assembler support
- BASIC programs run at native speed
- RISC OS 4 > 5 SWI emulation
- SWI Flag preservation
- Dynamic area creation in low memory
Improvements have been made from the previous demo version. As well as more software being compatible with Aemulor, 26-bit applications now work within taskwindows, and there have been more code optimisations resulting in faster emulation.
It is avaliable to purchase either from dealers, or directly from the Aemulor.com site - and will be also on sale at the Wakefield 2003 Show on Saturday 10th May. Don't forget to bring your IYONIX Mac address with you, though. For more information, read their Software and Purchasing FAQs, and their Support and discussion forums. There is also a compatibility database avaliable.
Aemulor Pro is due to be released later in the year. Likely to be added are specific application enhancements (eg Impression/Photodesk redraw code), and support for 2/4/16 colour screenmodes (eg for Sibelius) and 16-bit sound modules - and it's possible other features will be added. The price is to be confirmed.

Nah; turns out that Chris's net connection was playing up so he had no way of knowing about the release. Otherwise they probably would have beaten us :( |

Superb news! Now I can move everything to my Iyonix and actually use it as in theory 100% of my mission critical core apps will work now.Pitty I'm too busy to do this until the weekend :( |

Anonymous Coward: Actually, it wasn't a dig. It was an advert for their forums. A sarcastic advert, yes, but still an advert :-) |

It's not my fault people take my friendly jokes and decide to overreact/be unpleasant in other ways :-) Erm, Aemulor sounds marvellous. Yes. |
