It's remiss of me, as a founder member of the
Paul Vigay Appreciation Society, not to have kept you more up to date on the movements of our glorious leader lately. That's something I intend to put right immediately, if not sooner.
Obviously not sufficiently challenged by holding down two jobs (mild mannered support dude by day; kick-ass ISP CEO by night), he's graced us with three releases in the past week! New !Boot plugin TaskSetup allows you to configure which applications are loaded on startup - similar to how old Macs used to do things. In a similar vein, there's also been an update to MiscSetup, so you can configure various options which aren't catered for in the standard configuration options.
The other big news is "yet another first in the RISC OS world", a pixel advert scheme. I shudder to use the words "bandwagon" and "jump" while writing about The Vigay, but you might be quite familar with the concept from another website. However, The Vigay hopes to use this to "not only raise money for RISC OS development but also hopefully raise the profile of RISC OS through the media and internet world". Laudible aims indeed.
You can find these and other updates (such as the 32bit version of Cumana's Illustrated Holy Bible CD) on The Vigay's sites RISCOS.org and Vigay.com.
While I'm in roundup mode, I might as well shoehorn in one non-Vigay related note. Hi to all New Zealand readers, and sorry for lumping you in with some Korean hacker IP addresses in the firewall. Many thanks to Michael Foot for finding a way to report this, and I hope you enjoyed the podcast. Even if it is Vigay-free.

Some people must be very stupid if they think people will buy products from them if they own some pixels on a web page that was solely designed to sell pixels and advertise said owners of pixels. |

Some people must be very stupid if they think people will buy products from them if they own some pixels on a web page that was solely designed to sell pixels and advertise said owners of pixels. Sadly it does work though. The people who bought advertising on the original million dollar homepage actually saw massive increases in their sales. |

When writing about The Vigay and this moneymaking scheme, the words "jump" and "shark" seem much more appropriate. |

Sadly this is not a TV show, so he can't jump the shark. Although... VigayTV does have a certain ring to it... :E |

I can forsee a time when the price of pixels is so stupidly high that first time buyers just don't stand a chance, and will only be able to rent. This would be a very sad outcome indeed. Therefore I propose that the government must provide tax incentives for people building websites and, therefore, providing more pixels for the public. |

Yeah, but he needs a series. Richard Hammond can't do *everything*, it's just greedy. |

Notice Mr Vigay's left hand in pictures five to eight, in a very clawlike position - he just couldn't keep his fingers aligned as in picture four, and reverted to what could only be their natural form. I think this is proof positive that he is, in fact, Paul Vigalien. This is probably also why he's sporting shades in the only close up of his face - a close up on the eyes would reveal how vastly different they are from the human eye. And in the sequence 5 to 8, the motion of his right hand indicates to me that he was using some form of suggestion, so that viewers (and the film crew) fell under his evil spell - or, at the very least, didn't see through his cunning disguise. If you page down at the right speed, you can actually follow this motion... ...Paul Vigay? Top bloke and all that. What? An alien? Now that's just silly. |
